The 64th Annual Grammy Awards boasted a highly anticipated red carpet, having tipped to the less traditional end of red-carpet fashion in past years. Among the elegant, eccentric, and straight-up extra, these celebs made our list for the Best (and Worst) Dressed attendees. We’ll leave it up to you to decide who’s-who.
Lady Gaga has become synonymous with the Grammys red carpet, taking home her 13th Grammy on the night. After years of wearing the full spectrum from edgy to extraterrestrial, she’s settled on ‘elegant’ in a Giorgio Armani Privé asymmetric gown, styled with Old Hollywood-inspired diamonds and updo.
Justin Bieber took oversized to a new level in an enormous Balenciaga blazer and pants, and steel-toed platform crocs. Shockingly, this isn’t the first instance of crocs on the red carpet in 2022. Nor is it the second. Bieber’s, however, are Balenciaga and come with a $950 price tag.
Several celebs stepped out in BDSM-inspired looks this year, but none did it quite like Dua Lipa, who’s vintage Versace dress incorporated heavy chains and leather harnessing to mimic a classic halter gown silhouette. Stunning.
Before you roll your eyes at Tayla Parx’s dinosaur fit on the red carpet, you should know she’s behind some of the greatest billboard hits in recent years including Justin Bieber’s album Justice, which received several nominations on the night. If the mace tail braid is anything to go by, she’s tired of people not knowing her name, and we can only oblige her.
Winner of Best Alternative Music Album, St. Vincent didn’t compromise her vintage style even at the Grammys, and it paid off! Her floor-length, pink flamingo Gucci gown stood out from her fellow attendees, and only mildly clashed with the red carpet itself.
No, this is not a stunt… allegedly. Dillon Francis ran into Grammy-nominee and fellow DJ, Diplo in the hotel lobby, who handed him a spare ticket (proudly presented above) and steered him all the way onto the red carpet. The bag? Walgreens. The muffins? Little Bites. Francis? Confused.
Without Me singer Halsey had the most successful fashion bid of the night, making a statement in a noir-esque gown by Pressiat. Joined on the red carpet by “ironic” shopping bags and dinosaur costumes, it was Halsey who caught our eye as an unforgettable femme fatale.
Let it be said that Megan Thee Stallion cuts a tremendous figure, but after her stunning Oscars look, this bi-animal print club dress is a bit of a letdown.
Co-winner for best pop duo alongside Doja Cat for their hit song Kiss Me More, SZA was a dream in her Jean Paul Gaultier tulle gown. Surrounded by loud colours and gimmicks, the rapper brought her subtle femme flair to the occasion.
We can’t help but smile at R&B singer Yola’s carefree attitude when sweeping the red carpet in a gown inspired by the Purple People Eater. At least her fur is faux.
Chrissy Teigen edged out Carrie Underwood for the best ballgown of the night. Something about how the explosion of bubblegum pink by Nicole + Felicia Couture cinches perfectly at the waist is so dreamy.
We love Carrie Underwood’s country Barbie aesthetic, but her pumpkin ballgown by Dolce & Gabbana has fans divided. Surrounded by cutting edge looks and spectacular grabs for attention, her gown and sash are perhaps better suited for Miss America than the Grammys.
