Body found after suspicious house fire in Spence

A person was found deceased following a house fire in Spence this morning.

At approximately 10:45am on Tuesday 17 September, police and ACT Fire & Rescue were called to a house fire at Crofts Place, Spence.

The fire was extinguished, but tragically, a body was discovered inside the home.

The fire is being treated as suspicious, and a man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police have reassured the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Anyone who witnessed the fire or was in the area of Crofts Place before 10:45am is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference number P2284979. Information can be provided anonymously.
