Forced to make new friends and work with dangerous enemies, the squad will need to reunite back in their own time if they are to have any chance of saving the galaxy. This outstanding, young adult, science fiction novel serves as an excellent end to the impressive Aurora Cycle. The authors have produced a complex and entertaining narrative that makes good use of its great characters and time-travel premise. A brilliant and epic novel.

The Colonial’s Son by Peter Watt

Macmillan, $32.99

Determined to follow his father’s example and serve in the Queen’s army, Steele soon finds himself drawn to adventure. From the goldfields of Queensland to the battlefields of Afghanistan, Steele will experience danger and war as he attempts to forge his own path. Australia’s master of historical adventure returns with another evocative and intense novel. Serving as a sequel to Watt’s Colonial series, The Colonial’s Son contains an exciting and action-packed story that is a great follow-up to the earlier books.

2 Sisters Detective Agency by James Patterson and Candice Fox

Century, $32.99

Attempting to close down the business, Rhonda is drawn into a new case, and the sisters soon find themselves caught between a dangerous group of criminals and a vengeful former assassin. Acclaimed Australian author Fox teams up with the legendary James Patterson for an amazing crime novel. 2 Sisters Detective Agency is a fast-paced and wildly entertaining read with some amusing characters and a fun story guaranteed to drag you in.
