The ACT will introduce travel restrictions with Victoria from midnight tonight, ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr announced today, in response to the COVID-19 outbreak linked to the Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn that has triggered a five-day lockdown in the southern state.
Mr Barr asked anyone in Victoria to remain there if they can and to abide by the lockdown rules. He said residents returning to the ACT will need to notify ACT Health and self-quarantine for the period of the Victorian lockdown once they return to the Territory.
Non-residents will require an exemption to travel to the ACT for essential or compassionate reasons.
More to come.*
