The Brumbies kicked off their 2020 Super Rugby campaign with a close 27-24 win over the Reds in Canberra on Friday 31 January.

Tom Banks breaks through the Reds defence in the Brumbiesโ€™ win on Friday 31 January.

The Reds led 17-7 at the break with former Brumby favourite Henry Speight scoring the Redsโ€™ first try of the night, and becoming the first player to score a five-pointer against every Super Rugby side.

However, the Brumbies came out firing in the second period with tries to Tom Wright, Folau Faingaโ€™a and Tom Banks, while debutant Noah Lolesioโ€™s boot proved key to the result.

The Brumbiesโ€™ next match is against the Melbourne Rebels at GIO Stadium, Canberra on Friday 7 February 7.15pm.

In other news, the Brumbiesโ€™ naming rights sponsor Plus500 have pledged to donate $500 from every try and $500 from every conversion scored by the team during the 2020 Super Rugby season to bushfire relief.

The club has also announced they will take a Super Rugby fixture to UNSW Canberra Oval (Manuka) for the first time since 1996. The Oval will host the Stormers in the Round 15 clash on Saturday 9 May, 7.15pm kick-off. The match will be a celebration of the Brumbiesโ€™ 25th anniversary, with past legends to feature in a curtain-raiser before the game and other events planned throughout the week.
