ACT Policing arrested a 19-year-old Calwell man after he allegedly brandished a firearm at a neighbour who allegedly yelled at his dog. Â
Around 6.40pm on Tuesday 6 December, police received reports of an altercation in the front yard of a Calwell residence.
One of the men involved allegedly brandished a black handgun and a tyre iron, then he fled the scene.
Officers located the man in Hume a short time later, and transported him to the ACT Watch House. Investigations located the tyre iron and firearm at his premises; police seized the firearm.
The man has been charged with two counts of possessing an offensive weapon with intent and the unauthorised possession of a firearm. He is set to face the ACT Magistrates Court today.
