Canberra Festival of Speed attracts rare and unique vehicles

As the burnout smoke and rubber settles on another Summernats, car enthusiasts can now look forward to the 2024 Canberra Festival of Speed in March where up to 300 rare and unique vehicles will be on show. The festival will be held across the road from EPIC at Thoroughbred Park on 2-3 March.

To date, 100 luxury cars have already officially entered, including the Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari P4 Le Mans, Formula One vehicles, and an active gen 3 V8 supercar courtesy of Festival of Speed ambassador Cam Hill and Matt Stone Racing.

“It’s a historic moment for Canberra as we showcase this active V8 supercar in both static and dynamic displays, navigating our exhibition circuit,” said Martin Tanti from Project Supercars.

“This marks a significant milestone, as Canberra hasn’t witnessed an active V8 supercar in motion
since the GMC 400 more than 23 years ago.

“We are displaying some of the greatest supercars the world has to offer from Ferrari, Lamborghini,
McLaren and Porsche just to name a few,” Mr Tanti said.

“Our event is experiencing remarkable growth, reaching beyond Canberra, with participants
travelling from Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland and Europe.”

He said the Canberra Festival of Speed will feature up to 300 of the world’s rarest cars, many of which will be seen in motion on a purpose-built circuit at Thoroughbred Park in Lyneham. This will give enthusiasts the unique opportunity to witness a stunning array of open-wheeled race cars on active circuit display, ranging from Formula Ford to Formula One.

Owners of high-end luxury, supercar, exotic and motorsport vehicles, including Formula One and
European Le Mans cars, are invited to enter their car in the festival.

Canberra Festival of Speed tickets start from $28.60 for adults, $18.40 for 11-16 year olds, and entry is free for 10 & under. Find more information at projectsupercars.com
