Canberra records 1320 new COVID-19 cases

Canberra has recorded 1,320 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm with the ACT surpassing 20,000 total cases.

629 of the new cases came from PCR tests while 691 were from rapid antigen tests.

There are now 30 patients in hospital with the virus, three are in intensive care and requiring ventilation.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the ACT has dropped by over one thousand to 3,316.

Canberra has now amassed 21,174 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020.

There are now 17,842 people that have recovered from the virus in Canberra and 16 deaths.

The COVID-19 case fatality rate of COVID-19 cases in the ACT now stands at 0.076 per cent.

28.1 per cent of ACT residents aged 18 and over have now received a third dose of the vaccine while 15.3 per cent of children aged 5 to 11 have received their first dose.

The vaccination data is from yesterday, 14 January, with an update to come on Monday 17 January.
