Canberra has recorded 1,467 new COVID cases in the latest update.

Of the new cases, 645 came from PCR tests while 813 were from rapid antigen tests (RATs).

The number of patients in hospital has dropped slightly to 60, five are in intensive care with two requiring ventilation.

Active cases now include positive RATs, so the number has jumped sharply to 6,655.

Canberra has now accrued 27,618 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020 with 20 deaths.

98.6 per cent of Canberrans aged 12 and over have had two doses.

Of those residents aged 18 and over, 33.3 per cent have received their booster shot, while 34.2 per cent of residents aged 5-11 have received one dose.

The Kambah testing clinic will again be distributing RATs to eligible people today.

Due to RAT supply constraints, people will only be able to pick up a single kit per person and cannot take additional kits for people not present.

Meanwhile, NSW recorded almost 32,297 new infections and 32 deaths.

Three people were aged in their 40s, three people were aged in their 60s, eight people were in their 70s, 11 people were in their 80s and seven people were in their 90s.

Of the 32 people who died; 23 people had received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, one person had received one dose and eight were not vaccinated.
