Changes to transport for Groovin the Moo

A light rail timetable with increased frequency will be in place for the Groovin the Moo music festival which will be held at EPIC on Sunday 23 April.

The timetable will help Canberrans to rethink their travel routine to the festival and leave the car at home. Free shuttle bus services will also be available at the end of the festival which will depart to major interchanges in the city, Woden, Tuggeranong and Belconnen.

Other traffic management arrangements and public transport changes will be in place such as the temporary closure of the EPIC Park and Ride facility.

Shuttle bus services:

  • CDC Canberra will be operating free shuttle buses which will depart from EPIC to major interchanges in the city, Woden, Tuggeranong and Belconnen at the end of the night. More information can be found at www.cdccanberra.com.au.

Changes to public transport:

  • A special event light rail timetable will be in place with increased frequency in both directions on Sunday 23 April from 10:30am to midnight.
  • Large crowds heading to and from the Groovin the Moo music festival at EPIC are expected on light rail services throughout the day.
  • Light rail services will not be stopping at Phillip Avenue and Sandford Street stops from 9:00pm until last service on Sunday 23 April.
  • These are the two stops, located before and after the EPIC and Racecourse stop, which will be closed to ensure passenger safety and to help traffic flow from departing crowds.
  • Passengers who wish to depart from these stops must make alternative arrangements. The EPIC and Racecourse stop will remain in normal operation.
  • Passengers are asked to follow advice from Customer Service Officers, passenger information displays and PA announcements regarding operating services.
  • Bus route 18 will be diverted all day on Sunday 23 April 2023. Bus services will be diverted via Morisset Road and Old Well Station Road in both directions. No bus stops will be missed.

Event road closure details and changes to Park and Ride:
