Tis officially the season! We’re winding down for the year with a tipple in hand, and we’ve rounded up some christmas cocktails to elevate your party season.
While we’d argue that champagne doesn’t need any dressing up, it can be fun to break out of the ordinary sometimes, especially in the silly season! If you’re serving champagne in flutes, try a drop of guava nectar and if you’re using coupes or saucers, opt for some edible flowers.
Switch up your spritz with this recipe for a ruby red grapefruit take on the Italian classic.
Pampelle spritz
- 2 parts Pampelle grapefruit aperitif
- 3 parts prosecco
- 1 part soda water
Add plenty of ice to a large wine glass. Pour in the measured ingredients and lightly stir. Garnish with a wedge of ruby red grapefruit.

For a delicious upgrade to your G&T, try adding a crushed blackberry or two and a sprig of rosemary.
Some local distillers to try include Underground Spirits, the Canberra Distillery and Big River Distilling Co.
For the non-drinkers, blackberries and rosemary will taste divine in a glass of tonic or soda water, however there are some non-alcoholic ‘spirits’ like Lyre and Seedlip that can work in the place of the gin.
For a non-alcoholic cocktail (that you don’t have to make yourself), try local company Altina Drinks.
