COVID cases down in Southern NSW, Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded 229 new COVID cases with 33 infections coming in Queanbeyan.

Today’s numbers are well down on yesterday’s 497 COVID cases in Southern NSW and 204 in Queanbeyan.

The number of people in hospital with the virus has risen by four to 24 with three people in the ICU. 39 people are under active care, down from 43 yesterday.

There are now 3,373 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD with the total number of infections up to 4,907 since the start of the outbreak in June.

The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 48 new cases.

Yass Valley LGA reported 44 COVID-19 cases.

Bega Valley LGA has 43 new infections.

Eurobodalla LGA has 40 new cases.

Snowy Monaro LGA has 17 new COVID infections.

Upper Lachlan reported 4 new cases.

NSW Health are reminding people that anyone who tests positive using a RAT is now required to register their result with Service NSW via the website or app under a Public Health Order.

Meanwhile, NSW recorded 92,264 new infections and 22 deaths.

Some 2242 people are in hospital with COVID-19 across NSW, 175 of them in intensive care.

NSW Health cautioned that some of the daily case total included people reporting positive RATs on multiple days and possible follow-up positive PCR tests.

The number includes 61,387 positive RAT results covering the period since 1 January, including 50,729 in the last seven days, as well as 30,877 PCR tests.
