Crash near Goulburn leaves 24yo man in serious condition

NSW Police are appealing for public assistance and dashcam footage after a man was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition following a crash near Goulburn yesterday.

About 1.30pm yesterday, Saturday 25 September, emergency services responded to reports of a serious single-vehicle crash on Braidwood Road, Tirrannaville, outside the Wakefield Park raceway, about 8km south of Goulburn.

Officers attached to The Hume Police District attended and found a man trapped inside a white Toyota HiAce van, which had sustained extensive damage.

The 24-year-old man was released by emergency services a short time later and airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

Three passengers in the van were not injured in the incident.

Local police established a crime scene, and with assistance from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Police are specifically appealing for anyone who was travelling between Tarago and Goulburn between 1pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, and who may have sighted the white Toyota HiAce van with Queensland registration plates, to contact police immediately.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.
