In March 2019, local award-winning author Samantha Tidy, and illustrator/designer Juliette Dudley pressed launch on a crowdfunding campaign.
Their goal – to publish a children’s book celebrating the wonders of exploring Canberra as a child.
The response was one of excitement, overwhelming support and impatience. More than 300 passionate Canberrans pre-ordered a copy of Our Bush Capital.
Not only did Canberrans embrace the book, but it caught the attention of two local tourism organisations. The National Capital Attractions Association (NCAA) and National Capital Educational Tourism Project (NCETP) collectively sponsored the publication, ensuring every Australian MP and Senator receives a copy in the first sitting week of Parliament in 2020.
With the campaign reaching well past its target, Our Bush Capital will be published on 13 January 2020.
Our Bush Capital will be launched at several events around the city and will be available at many retailers.
