Curtin man to face court over Lyneham pub robbery

A 31-year-old Curtin man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, 1 July, charged over a robbery at a Lyneham pub, The Old Canberra Inn, over the weekend.

About 9:40pm on Saturday 29 June, the man and another man attended the pub, located on Mouat Street, before leaving the location about 10:30pm.

The 31-year-old man has subsequently returned to the pub about 12:15am on Sunday 30 June, allegedly producing a knife, demanding money, and threatening staff. The man then fled the location with a sum of cash.

About 10:40pm on Sunday 30 June, police attended a residence in Curtin, where the man was arrested.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery (offensive weapon), aggravated burglary (intent to commit theft).
