A man cyclist has died after he was struck by a car while riding a bike in Nowra this morning.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District were called to the Princes Highway near Kalandar Street, Nowra, just after 5.30am, Friday 21 July, following reports a cyclist had been hit by a car.

The cyclist was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 51-year-old man was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, and officers will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
