Despite access restrictions to the display suite, over 100 of The Melrose’s 185 apartments in Woden, offering either one, two or three bedrooms, were already purchased by 31 October.
Colliers Director of Residential Land, Josh Reid, said the real estate market in the ACT has been extremely strong in 2021, and they’ve seen fairly even buying between investors and owner-occupiers.
“We are exceptionally pleased at how well received The Melrose has been and the strength of sales before we have even reached this point in the marketing campaign,” Mr Reid said.
The building is being developed by the Doma Group and the display suite is now open for visitors between 11am and 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
“Off-the-plan developments like The Melrose provide a number of advantages, particularly in rising markets such as Canberra is experiencing at the moment. They let people get into the market at current prices, buyers have longer to get financing organised, and they provide opportunities to purchase a home or investment in the city’s most popular precincts,” Mr Reid said.
“A home in the Woden Town Centre is central to public transport, shops and restaurants; there is significant employment in and around Phillip; and this is one of Canberra’s most in-demand primary and secondary [school] priority enrolment areas.”
With cutting-edge Technogym equipment, a resort-style 25m pool, and surrounding health and wellbeing amenities, the design reflects Doma’s commitment to wellness.
“One reason The Melrose is popular is the outstanding reputation enjoyed by its developer, Doma, and their demonstrated commitment to revitalising Woden and delivering upon their promise,” Mr Reid said.
“Doma is the driving force behind development of a destination precinct in and around The Melrose, having recently completed the A+A apartments, the Sirius Building and Aviation House office buildings, and established the new Woden dining precinct which includes some of the city’s best bars and restaurants, such as 86 South, where the new Melrose display suite is located.”
The delay in opening the display suite was due to Covid-19 restrictions, but Mr Reid said the launch brings new energy and excitement to Woden.
