Did you witness a stabbing and assault in Civic last month?

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses and information in relation to a stabbing and assault incident in Civic last month.

About 4.20am on Saturday, 17 February, a physical altercation between a large group of men and women occurred at the corner of City Walk and Petrie Plaza in the CBD, police allege.

A man was seriously assaulted and another man was stabbed. Both men were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to the incident, and arrested a 29-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man.

The woman has been charged with five offences – possessing an offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional wounding, intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm, and breach of good behaviour order.

The man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The matter is before court.

Police understand a number of people witnessed the incident, and urge those who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.
