Doors open for ‘first look’ at A by Adina Canberra

Toga Far East (TFE) Hotels has opened its very first A by Adina in Canberra, marking the global debut of the Adina Apartment Hotels premium brand.

The soft opening was marked with a ribbon cutting, ahead of the official brand and hotel launch scheduled for February. The hotel’s general manager, Jelena Bojanic, was in attendance along with dignitaries including Canberra Airport CEO, Stephen Byron, and TFE Hotel’s own ACT/NSW regional general manager, Emma Hynes.

Operating across four levels, the Bates Smart-designed apartment hotel will play a key role in the strategy to enliven Canberra’s CBD. Featuring 130 apartments, a gymnasium and a 24/7 service concierge, guests can “stay their way” at A by Adina, as the hotel promises a one-of-a-kind experience.

Ms Bojanic said all guests have their stay tailored to them the moment they step into the hotel.

“We understand the needs of a corporate traveller are different to a leisure traveller and we suit our service levels and ways of operating to best meet the needs of our guests,” she said.

“We’re not offering receptionists; we’re offering ‘personalised experience curators’ though our front office team.

“They have all the local knowledge, they know what’s hot, what’s not, what’s on at Canberra Theatre and can best guide you to create what you can of your stay in Canberra … we’ve still got those personal touches and that local knowledge to help guide you.”

A by Adina is located in Canberra’s city centre, 400 metres from the National Convention Centre Canberra and 500 metres from Canberra Centre. The hotel is also near some of Canberra’s best dining and retail options along with new retail tenants, including Arc Café by Redbrick opening in February, Mu Omakase & Cicada Bar opening in April, and Meat and Wine Co opening in May. The precinct also features its own Melburnian-style laneway, connecting to Canberra Theatre Centre.

“We’ve seen a lot of interest from leisure travellers and government travellers which is really great to see. We find that people have connected already to the Adina Apartment Hotels and they want to find out more about A by Adina,” Ms Bojanic said.

The new A by Adina hotel brand represents “an elevated premium brand experience” for TFE Hotels with a fresh concept that balances a hotel and apartment-style experience.

“There’s such a contemporary feel which maximises and utilises all the space,” Ms Bojanic said.

“It’s a really cool designer space. It’s absolutely beautiful.”

With chocolates and a bottle of wine on arrival and a 1pm check out, along with the flexibility to change booking one day before arrival, TFE Hotel CEO, Antony Ritch, said A by Adina sets a new precedent.

“We are of the belief that different stays shouldn’t need a different hotel each time. So, our A by Adinas bring to life the idea of ‘hotel living’ by embracing the duality of a premium hotel stay with the familiarity that comes from an elevated away-from-home experience.”
