Drunk 21-year-old man charged after Gungahlin ramming

A 21-year-old Dunlop man has been charged with offences including aggravated reckless driving, property damage, high-range drink-driving, possess prohibited substance, and burglary. 

About 12.50pm on Monday, 5 June 2023 the man was allegedly seen driving a white Toyota Hilux erratically in the Belconnen area, before driving to the Gungahlin Joint Emergency Services Centre and ramming through the vehicle gate at the rear of the premises. 

He was arrested at the scene, and recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.198, which is almost four times the legal 0.05 limit. 

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday 6 May. His vehicle has been seized and will be subjected to searches tomorrow.
