Elderly man assaulted by two teens in Woden

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an elderly man was assaulted by two teens in Woden on Saturday 24 June.

About 3.50pm, police were called to the Woden shopping centre following reports of the unprovoked assault near the Woden Square entrance.    

Centre security staff arrived, and the youths allegedly began assaulting them.     

Soon after, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were located by police on Corinna Street and arrested.     

The 16-year-old has been charged with affray, assault, fight in a public place, and three counts of breaching a good behaviour order. Enquiries relating to the 17-year-old are continuing.      

Police have already spoken with several witnesses, but would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police.
