Believing trees are important for our visual and mental landscapes, ceramicist Josephine Townsend invites you to connect with the Colours of the Forest at Humble House Gallery, from 25 November to 24 December.
The artist creates evocative pieces influenced by the concept of shinrin yoku, or forest bathing – a meditation in nature. With both arboreal and cylindrical forms, she showcases the spirit of trees – their texture, splendour, and relaxing auras that viewers are encouraged to embrace.
Through her pieces, Ms Townsend aims to capture the joy and calm that nature brings, which we are often too busy to notice. She hopes that visitors will take time to notice the small details and embrace nature.
