Excitement builds as LEGO announces first Canberra store

Calling all LEGO lovers: the Canberra Centre will soon be home to Canberra’s first LEGO Certified Store!

LEGO Australia and New Zealand and store operator, Alquemie Group, announced today, 29 March, that the LEGO Certified Store will open at the Canberra Centre in the coming months.

LEGO fans can expect one of the country’s widest selections of sets including limited editions, a portfolio of play experiences, activities and events available exclusively in store.

Richard Facioni, executive chairman of Alquemie Group, said Canberra has one of the “most loyal and growing communities of brick fans in the country”.

“Canberra has been on our radar for some time as an ideal venue for a new LEGO Certified Store,” Mr Facioni said.

“We look forward to proudly unveiling an inspiring new retail experience for Canberra which showcases the creative potential of the world-famous LEGO brick.”

At 250sqm, Canberra’s first store will have a wall-mounted mosaic and a world-first 3D model of a local landmark made by the Southern Hemisphere’s only LEGO Certified Professional, Ryan McNaught.

Other notable mentions include a Pick a Brick Wall, where you can grab a cup and fill it with your choice of bricks and elements, and a Build a Minifigure Tower, where you can mix and match to create a bespoke Minifigure.

Fans can also expect a Digital Box where they can scan almost any LEGO boxed sets and watch it come to life in 3D, live on the wall-mounted screen in-store along with in-store experts to help find the perfect building bricks.
