FIA ACT’s most UnCharitable Event

Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) ACT is proudly hosting Canberra’s first screening of Dan Pallotta’s world-changing documentary, UnCharitable at Majura Theatre on Tuesday 4 June.

UnCharitable, directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal, is a documentary inspired by Dan Pallotta’s book by the same name and his TED Talk, The way we think about charity is dead wrong, which has motivated and inspired philanthropists and changemakers alike.

Showcasing the dirty underbelly of philanthropy and unpacking the misconduct that is consuming the not-for-profit sector, it’s been described as “a groundbreaking documentary” and is “shining a light on the flaws within the nonprofit sector”. We’re told that the documentary “breathes life into a radical new way of giving; freeing charities from the traditional sackcloth-and-ashes constraints, so that they can truly change the world.”

This event is sponsored by the Canberra Foundations Collaborative: The Snow Foundation, The John James Foundation and Hands Across Canberra.

Tickets for the event start from $25 for FIA members and $30 for non-members, this includes a tasty drop of wine and a selection of accompanying snacks.

Apart from viewing the feature documentary that exposes the dark side of philanthropy, this event provides you with the exclusive opportunity to network with some of Canberra’s most charitable minds.

Change the way you think about giving with the screening of UnChartiable at Majura Theatre, Marjura Park on Tuesday 4 June 7pm; fia.org.au/states/act/
