Five-week-old girl dead after possible dog mauling in Moruya

Two dogs have been seized after a five-week-old baby girl died of a head injury on the NSW south coast.

The girl died less than two hours after her parents brought her to Moruya Hospital on Saturday night, police said on Tuesday.

She had suffered a head injury.

Police were called to the hospital, while council rangers seized two “rottweiler-type” dogs at the parents’ home.

Officers from the South Coast Police District are investigating.
