Ricky Stuart has made a couple of changes to his Raiders team to take on the Cowboys in Townsville on Saturday night, with Josh Hodgson and Brad Schneider both ruled out.

With Jamal Fogarty and Schneider now missing, the Raiders have turned to veteran Matt Frawley to fill the void at halfback.

Tom Starling will start at hooker after playing 74 minutes against Cronulla, with Adrian Trevilyan named to make his NRL debut off the bench.

Trevilyan played in the Raiders’ trial match against the Roosters earlier this year and looked solid out of dummy half before coming off with concussion. The 20-year-old Townsville native will debut in his home town and become Raiders #381.

Hodgson is set to miss the next 2-3 weeks after sustaining a cartilage injury to his knee early in Canberra’s 24-19 win over the Sharks, while Schneider is out after testing positive for COVID.

Schneider impressed in his first start at halfback, making 31 tackles and kicking four from four goals in a solid performance.

Unvaccinated pair Joe Tapine and Josh Papalii have been granted exemptions to play in Queensland after having recently contracted COVID-19.

Raiders co-captain Jarrod Croker was a late out for Canberra’s NSW Cup match against Newtown and is expected to miss the next one to two weeks with a back issue
