French Flair is your cellar door to French wine and food

In Manuka’s chic Palmerston Lane, you can find the cellar door to the independent import business behind restaurants all over the country, including some of the best.

French Flair la Boutiqueis owned and managed by Christophe Rebut, a winemaker born on a vineyard in Beaujolais, France, to a family with deep roots in the wine industry for five generations.

Whilst in his home country, Christophe, along with French Flair co-owner Nicole, visited many vineyards and got to know the winemakers, their vineyards and their work.

They learned that every bottle has a story – go and discover them!

For over a decade, Christophe’s independent import business has worked with equally independent growers to supply French wines to your favourite dining establishments – including Les Bistronomes, Ondine, Raku, The Boathouse by the Lake, and Rebel Rebel in Canberra.

Reinventing the business during the pandemic, French Flair has extended to accommodate the everyday consumer and connoisseur.

Their wine shop in Manuka is an unassuming portal to wineries of every region in France.

“While travel is still limited, you can find this little place and sample the wines without having to fly to the other side of the world,” smiles Christophe.

“Much like wineries opening their cellar to the public, Canberrans can taste and buy our wines right here.”

“It’s our own tour de France,” says Nicole.

French Flair will have you spoiled for choice with gifts this Father’s Day, including a selection of pre-made and custom-made hampers of French food, wines and spirits.

“Canberrans love their wine,” laughs Christophe. “We offer a variety of events, wine tastings and masterclasses, to lavish wine dinners.

“Come on down, grab a saucisson, some cheese, pâté, and a bottle of wine!”
