Hall Village Christmas Fair

The inaugural Hall Village Christmas Fair will be held at the Hall School and Museum on Saturday 11 December 10am-3pm, 17-19 Palmer Street, Hall. This not-for-profit event was conceived and created to support small businesses, artisans and entertainers impacted by lockdown. There will be over 60 artisan vendors, food stalls, live entertainment, a special visit from Santa at noon, fresh cut Christmas trees for sale, wood chop competition and demonstration, brass band, and Hall Collectors Club classic cars display. There will be a fire tanker display for kids at the adjacent Hall Rural Fire Brigade shed and Hall Heritage Village Museum will also be open to the public. Gold coin donation at entry. Bring the family and enjoy the festivities with a relaxing picnic on the grounds. Make sure to register for your free ticket before you visit via Eventbrite. GIVIT Christmas Appeal

Not-for-profit donation platform GIVIT facilitated more than 1.6 million donations to people in need over the past 12 months, with requests for assistance doubling since the beginning of the pandemic. With a strong demand for essentials such as toiletry items, food and clothing at this time of the year, GIVIT is calling on Aussies to donate through the GIVIT Christmas Appeal. GIVIT currently has almost 20,000 requests for assistance this Christmas, with donations of toys for children escaping domestic violence situations, nappies for families suffering from financial hardship, and hygiene essentials for vulnerable people on the wish list. 100 per cent of donated funds received by GIVIT will be used to purchase essential items for people in need. Gungahlin Rotary Christmas markets

Gungahlin Rotary Club will host Gungahlin Christmas markets on Sunday 12 December 8.30am-1pm in Hinder Street opposite Eastlakes Club. Huge number of stalls.

VIEW Club

VIEW Clubs support the Smith Family’s Learning for Life program for disadvantaged Australian school children.

Queanbeyan Evening: Next meeting will be on Wednesday 15 December 6pm at Vanilla Pod Café, Riverside Plaza. Cost: $35 for dinner. This will be the club’s Christmas party and last meeting for 2021. More info: call Sue on 0448 427 327.

Christmas Charity Stall

Relay for Life Team, the Bold Bandannas, will hold a Christmas Charity Stall at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December 8am-5pm. There will be: homemade jams, pickles, chutney, lemon butter, sugar reduced preserves; a range of hand sewn items, including children’s dress-ups, hand knitted dolls’ clothes, crocheted hand towels, and knitted and lace coathangers; worm juice for plants; a patchwork cot quilt, a crocheted and a knitted knee rug; Christmas goodies; DVDs; jigsaw puzzles; and a limited selection of bric-a-brac; and unique sales of a children’s book called Who Took the Egg?. A Very Scullin Christmas

The family-friendly events the Scullin Community Group is known for are back! Come celebrate Christmas on Saturday 18 December 3-10pm at Scullin Shops. Relax outdoors with our open mic, licensed bar, free ukulele jam and first youth market. Dine on La Casetta takeaway pizza, Sue’s Kitchen Chinese, Scullin Sweet Bones treats, and the Scullin Community Group’s fundraising barbecue. Social Soccer Sunday

Free, round robin, six-a-side-based soccer games for men, women, girls and boys of all skill levels and age groups every Sunday until 27 February (except 26 December and 2 January). Bring a team or just come as an individual. Family-friendly with the juniors playing in unison with the adults. Water bottle refill facilities provided, canteen and barbecue available. McHappy Day raises millions

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) raised over $5.2 million in its 30th annual McHappy Day fundraising event, for seriously ill and injured children and their families. On Saturday 13 November, Aussies across the country showed their support by purchasing Silly Socks, Helping Hands and Big Macs at their local Macca’s restaurant or via McDelivery. The funds raised will help RMHC support over 60,000 families each year through vital facilities and programs they provide including Ronald McDonald Houses, Family Rooms, Family Retreats and their national Learning Program.
