GIVIT donation of the week: Carpet cleaning equipment

A Canberra-based Foundation registered with GIVIT that supports Indigenous communities across Australia works to ensure that our Indigenous people are given equal opportunities to thrive, healing multi-generational trauma, addiction and hardship. In March 2021, a young Indigenous man who resides in central NSW approached the Foundation with a mission to create a sustainable income for himself and other members of this community. Through his own volition he has obtained a contract with the local estate agency to clean residential homes, including carpet and furniture. The young man has approached the Foundation for their support in sourcing commercial grade carpet and furniture cleaning equipment, to enable him to start the contract and potentially employ up to four others, creating a viable career and income stream within his community. Any individual or corporation that could donate commercial grade cleaning equipment would make a world of difference to him and his rural community. To donate, visit givit.org.au/donate-items, search by category “Household Items” in ACT. After you pledge the item, you will be contacted by the relevant organisation to arrange pick-up, post or drop-off.
