Friends of ANBG Thursday Talks

Spring forward

Daylight Saving Time starts in the ACT on Sunday 1 October at 2am when clocks are turned forward one hour to 3am. It will end on Sunday 7 April. 2024. A handy mnemonic for remembering which way to turn the clock is: Spring forward, fall back.

One Hundred MGs

One hundred MG sports, touring, competition, and saloon cars from across Australia will be on display at the National Museum of Australia on Saturday 30 September 9am-2pm to celebrate 100 years since the first MG was made in 1923. The cars, all models from the Pre-War MG Register of Australia and the Australian MG T-Series and Y-Series registers, include several with significant competition history. Googong RFS Open Day

For the first time since the pandemic, Googong’s annual Rural Fire Service Open Day is back, bringing fun-filled entertainment and offering fire safety education for the whole family on Saturday 7 October 10am-2pm. The free event will be held at Googong’s Bunyip Park for the first time. It is an opportunity to celebrate the local heroes who volunteer their time with the Jerrabomberra Creek Rural Fire Brigade, all while raising vital awareness about the importance of disaster preparedness.
