Have your say to improve ACT parks and reserves

Canberrans can take part in a short survey to help improve visits to ACT parks, reserves and forests.

Until July 2021, you can complete an ACT Parks and Conservation Service survey at: https://www.yoursay.act.gov.au/act-parks/act-parks-and-reserves-visitor-survey.

The government wants to better understand who uses reserves, forests, and national parks, how they use them, and how visitors can have better experiences.

“This survey will give us a better picture of visitor expectations and satisfaction, and help us ensure we get the most out of our unique and diverse landscape,” said ACT Minister for Land Management, Mick Gentleman.

“We know how highly Canberrans value our natural environment, and we want to make sure that our parks and reserves continue to provide great experiences.”

The ‘Bush Capital’ takes its nickname from the green spaces that cover about 80% of the ACT.

“We are fortunate to have great access to nature reserves, national parks and pine forests close to where we live,” Mr Gentleman said.

Daniel Iglesias, Director of ACT Parks and Conservation Service, said the survey results would be a valuable tool.

“Our parks and reserves already support conservation of plants and our wildlife, offer great vistas and provide endless recreational opportunities,” Mr Iglesias said.

“The results will allow us to continue making real, positive changes that will keep our parks and reserves places that everyone can enjoy.” The ACT Government will also conduct face-to-face surveys at Tidbinbilla, Namadgi, and Canberra Nature Park reserves.
