Hazard reduction burn tonight at Kowen

The ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) will be assisting landholders with a hazard reduction burn off the Kings Highway at Kowen this evening, Tuesday 15 December.

The four hectare burn will be visible to motorists travelling along the Kings Highway between Kowen and Bungendore. Smoke is likely to settle in Kowen overnight.

This hazard reduction burn is being undertaken to remove ground fuels in the area to reduce the risk of a bushfire.

ACTRFS reminds residents: do not call Triple Zero (000) to report smoke. Only report unattended fires to 000.
