Head-on collision claims two lives

Two people have died following a two-car collision on Coulter Drive in Cook yesterday, 4 April, accounting for the first two fatalities on ACT roads in 2020.

About 11.30am, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on Coulter Drive between William Hovell Drive and Springvale Drive.

One person died at the scene. Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. One person has since died in hospital overnight.   

Coulter Drive was closed for about five hours while investigations were carried out. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during that time.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the circumstances of the incident, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

The families have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time and no further details will be provided.
