About 9.20am today, 17 February, residents in Lyons received a surprise visit when a low flying hot air balloon crashed into the backyards of two neighbouring properties.
Thankfully, the balloon has now been deflated and all passengers made it out of the aircraft safely.
ACT Policing reported that there was minor property damage to three properties as a result of the crash.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating into the crash.
