Next Thursday, 22 September, will be a National Day of Mourning for the Queen, and a national public holiday.
In Canberra, a National Memorial Service will be held at 11am at Parliament House. One minute of silence will be observed across the nation at 11am.
The Malcolm Fraser Bridge, the Canberra Times Fountain, and light rail stops will be lit in purple until midnight.

As a mark of respect, and in accordance with protocol, flags will be flown at half-mast in the ACT until further notice.
A condolence book for the Queen is available to sign at the ACT Legislative Assembly. Members of the public can sign it between 8.30am and 5pm, weekdays.
Condolence books are also available at Australian Parliament House (in the marble foyer) and at Government House.
Government services changed
Next Thursday, ACT public schools will be closed, and public transport will operate on a Sunday bus timetable.
Floriade will be open, and a one-minute silence will be observed at Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park at 11am.
There will be no changes to bin collection services.
Access Canberra Service Centres in Dickson, Mitchell, and the Hume Motor Vehicle Inspection Station will be closed.
Members of the public who had pre-booked inspections, assessments, and appointments with Access Canberra for that day will be contacted by staff to reschedule their appointments.
The Access Canberra Contact Centre will operate under public holiday arrangements, and will be open from 9am to 5pm. Outside these times, the Access Canberra Contact Centre will be still open to report urgent public safety issues like fallen trees and faulty traffic lights.
At this stage, there will be minimal impact to health services in the ACT. An update will be provided later this week, and anyone directly affected will be contacted.
The Canberra and Region Visitors Centre and the Village Centre at the National Arboretum Canberra will be open from 9am to 4pm.
