A van rolled on the Hume Highway near Marulan earlier this afternoon, injuring multiple people and resulting in the closure of all southbound lanes, towards Canberra.
It is reported that around 50 bystanders helped pull the van from the top of eight people, including six children – three boys and three girls. Two adults have been critically injured, three children are in a serious but stable condition and three children are stable. It is believed they are from the same family.
The incident occurred shortly after midday, with NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Rescue, the Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue all on the scene of the crash.
Light vehicles can use Jerrara Road, Mountain Ash Road and Windellama Road to Goulburn. Heavy vehicles should park and wait.
Southbound traffic on the highway is congested, and motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow the instructions of emergency services and traffic crews.
