Jarrod Croker returns for desperate Raiders

The Canberra Raiders have called up co-captain Jarrod Croker for Saturday night’s clash against the Broncos in Brisbane.

Sitting in 16th on the ladder at 1-4 and fresh off a 53-12 mauling at the hands of Penrith last week, Ricky Stuart has recalled the Raiders champion for his first game of the season and 293rd of his career. Croker’s return at centre sees Harley Smith-Shields dropped to the reserves.

With Jack Wighton still suspended and Matt Frawley out injured, Brad Schneider has been named at five-eighth and will partner Jamal Fogarty in the halves. That now makes it four different halves combinations in four weeks for the Raiders.

Corey Horsburgh has been named at lock with Corey Harawira-Naera dropping to the bench.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are riding high at the top of the ladder, winning five from five contests to start the year. As the only undefeated side left in the NRL, Brisbane have named an unchanged lineup from last week.
