Pantone’s colour of the year, Living Coral, is vibrant and bold. So how do you incorporate it into your home?
Sheridan’s freelance stylist, Lulu Cavanagh, says although overwhelming at first, bold colours can bring life and personality into a space. If you’re not overly confident about incorporating such a bright shade into your home, Lulu suggests using it sparingly and working your way up to more.
“This is such a versatile colour and that is what I love about it. There is so much you can do depending on your individual style. One way I love to style this shade of orange is paring it back with neutral hues. A bright white will create a fresh summer look and make the coral pop,” she says.
“If you have a more luxurious style, bring in accessories with brass or brushed gold tones. To add a touch of glamour, think more along the lines of Moroccan or Turkish inspired interiors.”
Real Living editor Elle Lovelock says Living Coral is much more versatile more than you think!
“Try the trend at home with accessories, for example, a large fruit bowl on your dining table, a decorative cushion on the sofa or a beautiful vase filled with flowers or foliage,” she says.
“Colour-wise, it works perfectly with navy and deep green, but white will always freshen it up. When teaming it with different materials, timber and concrete work best.
“If you’re feeling brave, go all out and paint a feature wall or a band of colour that goes around the room, one-third of the way up the wall.”
