LJ Hooker Gungahlin: Matthew Herbert, Troy Thompson & Lyn Fairweather

What are the keys to a successful real estate agency?

I think you have to have passion if you want to be successful at anything. You have to care about the people you are working for and the people who are working in your team. You also have to be innovative, be well trained, understand your market and provide great leadership to help guide your team to being great at what they do. Hard work – you have to be willing to work hard, nothing great
comes without it. Troy

Tell us about the real estate industry in Canberra.

Canberra is a fantastic market for property. It has steady positive trends from the strong public sector and continual infrastructure growth making for a less reactive market unlike the major capital cities. It also has so many great property opportunities from those wanting to buy their first home, purchase an investment or find well located rental properties all over the city. Troy

With a transient population, Canberra Real Estate offers good rental yields for investors, and low vacancy rates, and while we are back to the traditional Winter slow down with leasing, vacancy rates are still less than 2%. Lyn

What sets your agency apart from others?

We focus on building highly skilled property professionals. We want our people to be the best in the industry. We put more time and resources into training our team to achieve that. We also have a strong family culture in our team, we are real people who pride ourselves on being genuine, dedicated and working together as a team.

We have been a part of the Gungahlin community for 20 years and we take great pride in ensuring we take the same time and effort in helping someone find their first home to someone selling their family home. Nothing better than when you get to work with a client many times over many years. Troy

Our team are enthusiastic and take pride in what they do and genuinely care for their clients. We strive to offer a workplace that provides career development and a supportive workplace to ensure the longevity of the team, meaning our team get to know our clients and work with them to achieve the best results for their real
estate needs. Lyn
