Macgregor man charged with sexually abusing 13-year-old girl

A 32-year-old Macgregor man is set to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges related to the alleged abuse of a 13-year-old girl.

Police allege that the man abused the child earlier this week at his residence.

It is further alleged that the man shared child exploitation material with the victim.

About 7:30pm last night, Thursday 29 August, police conducted a search warrant at the man’s residence, where police located the child exploitation material on the man’s phone.

The man has been charged with grooming a young person, sexual intercourse with a child under 16 years, and possessing child exploitation material.

The investigation into this matter is continuing and additional charges may be laid.

If you or someone you know has been affected by sexual violence, you can report to police by attending a police station or calling ACT Policing Communications on 131 444. You can also submit an online report for historical sexual assault for incidents that occurred more than six months ago.

The ACT Policing website has a dedicated section for victims of sexual assault, with information and a range of advice and details of support options.
