Canberra’s very own interior stylist Gina Ciancio of Style Curator is at it again with a plan to help you make the most out of summer with your very own big screen cinema.
The DIY outdoor cinema has been around for a while, but with coronavirus restrictions still in our lives, this year’s summer holidays might be a little different.
With more people hunting for affordable family entertainment ideas at home, Gina has found the best option to enjoy the full cinematic experience in the garden – cheaply and without a Netflix series in sight.
Gina got crafty and constructed her own impressively large and robust 120-inch screen all for under $100.
Here’s how:
Gina uses select materials from Bunnings – PVC pipes, connectors, tape, hammer, and fabric and a handsaw to create a framed fabric screen that can be easily dismantled when not in use.
She also has great tips on effective projectors.
For atmosphere and comfort, Gina suggests chilled out Boho vibe ideas like stringing festoon lights along the fence, ambient lanterns, jute rugs, scatter cushions, bean bags and a basket filled with warm rugs. For snacks, go old school with popcorn and skittles.
