Man assisting police with enquiries following pursuit

A man is assisting police with their enquiries following a pursuit through numerous Canberra suburbs on Friday 19 March.

Police recovered a firearm during the search of a premises yesterday, Sunday 21 March, as part of an operation to locate the alleged offender following an incident where a man had forced entry to a property in Casey on Friday morning.

It is alleged the man returned to his car before discharging a firearm. He then failed to stop for police and continued driving through a number of southern suburbs.

Police resources were deployed to the area and a number of attempts were made to stop the vehicle including the use of stop sticks.

The white 2005 BMW 320i involved in the pursuit has been located.

Anyone who is yet to speak to police and who may have witnessed the incident in Casey or subsequent pursuit or have CCTV or dash-cam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
