A 45-year-old Gungahlin man has been charged with a range of offences including threat to kill and animal cruelty following an incident in Charnwood on Friday 3 July.
About 3.25pm, the alleged offender attended Small Place, Charnwood and had a verbal altercation with a man. During this altercation, the alleged offender is believed to have produced a knife and threatened to kill the man.
The alleged offender is then believed to have engaged in a physical altercation with a woman at a residence on Small Place, during which time the offender is alleged to have assaulted and threatened to kill the woman.
Police further allege that during this altercation, the offender has stabbed two dogs at the premises, while also sustaining bite wounds from the dogs. The man has then fled the scene.
Domestic Animal Services were contacted to provide treatment for the injured dogs.
The alleged offender was subsequently arrested about 5.30pm at a residence in Gungahlin.
It was intended that the alleged offender was to be charged on Saturday with a range of offences, including threat to kill, aggravated burglary, common assault, act endangering health, possess offensive weapon with intent, animal cruelty and property damage.
