A 23-year-old Harrison man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Casey about 4.30am on Sunday 21 November.
Police will allege that during the incident, the man discharged a firearm several times from a stolen vehicle in the direction of a man who was on foot at the intersection of Whitrod Avenue and Plimsoll Drive, Casey.
A crime scene was established and during a search of the area, police located evidence of a shooting.
About 5.30pm the same day, police executed a search warrant on a residence in Berrigan Street, O’Connor and arrested the 23-year-old man, who was on previously granted bail.
He was charged with using a carriage service to threaten serious harm, using a carriage service to menace, and remanded in custody on Monday, 22 November.
Today, as a result of further investigations, when the man reappears in the ACT Magistrates Court, police will lay additional charges against him for attempted murder, discharging a firearm endangering life, driving a motor vehicle without consent and possession of a number plate calculated to deceive.
