Man facing 15 charges after Belconnen apartment car park thefts

A 25-year-old Belconnen man will face 15 charges in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday 17 May following an ACT Policing investigation into thefts from vehicles in a Belconnen apartment complex in April.

On Sunday 3 April, police received a report that the car park at a College Street, Belconnen apartment complex had been broken into, and six vehicles accessed. Bank cards stolen from some of the vehicles were later used to make several fraudulent transactions.

Investigations revealed the break-ins had taken place between 4am and 5am, and CCTV footage identified two offenders.

On 12 April, a 29-year-old Holt man was arrested and charged with 16 offences including burglary, damaging property, minor theft and obtaining property by deception.

Yesterday, Saturday 14 May, police arrested the 25-year-old man in Cook. He will face court Monday charged with seven counts of damaging property, four counts of minor theft, burglary, possession of a knife and failing to appear after a bail undertaking.
