Man in court for drug, weapon and bail breach charges

A 29-year-old Phillip man, who was on bail, was arrested for drug and weapon offences by ACT Policing yesterday, Thursday 30 September.

Criminal Investigations officers yesterday executed a warrant at a residence in Phillip, after investigations revealed the man was living there, allegedly in breach of bail conditions granted on 27 July 2021.

About 10.20am, police entered the residence and located the man, drug paraphernalia, substances suspected of being cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis, weapons and ammunition.

The man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, 1 October, charged with possessing a drug of dependence for sale, possessing a prohibited substance, possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing ammunition, and breach of bail.

Police will oppose further bail.

Investigations into the man are ongoing, and police expect to lay additional charges.
