Man to face court over Mawson aggravated robbery

A 28-year-old Kambah man who was on parole will face the ACT Magistrates Court today, 21 July, in relation to an aggravated robbery in Mawson.

About 9.20am Thursday 20 July, police allege the man attended a supermarket at the Swinger Hill shops, brandished a handgun, and stole a sum of money.

The man then departed the location in a white Hyundai i30 that had allegedly been stolen from a Kambah residence earlier that morning.

During the robbery, police allege the man pointed the handgun at several supermarket staff, however no one was injured during the incident.

The man was located on Marconi Crescent, Kambah and arrested about 11.25am. A search of the man allegedly found a revolver style handgun concealed in his trousers.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery with an offensive weapon, drive stolen motor vehicle, possess prohibited firearm, drive while unlicenced, and breach of parole.
