ACT Policing has arrested a 31-year-old man for possession of weapons and drugs after he ran from police and hid in a nearby property.
About 1pm Sunday 15 January, officers conducting routine patrols in Ainslie located a man who had failed to attend a police station as part of his good behaviour obligation requirements.
When officers engaged the man, he fled into the backyard of a nearby residence, where officers located him inside a chicken coop.
A subsequent search of the man produced ammunition, a knife and a clear substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The man was transported to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today.
His charges include possessing a knife without reasonable excuse, a drug of dependence, and ammunition. He will also be charged with breaching his good behaviour obligations.
