ACT Policing arrested a man on Sunday night, 26 December in connection with a burglary in Conder earlier that evening.
About 10.40pm Sunday, Tuggeranong Station officers on patrol observed the man riding an e-scooter in Conder with bags over his shoulder. The man rode away from the officers at speed before falling from the scooter. He continued to flee on foot, and discarded the bags.
Police caught up with the man a short time later. When the bags were retrieved, searches revealed dozens of items suspected of being stolen property. Police also located a knife.
The man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House.
Further investigations revealed a nearby residence had been broken into and several items had been stolen.
The 39-year-old Monash man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, Tuesday, 28 December charged with aggravated burglary, going equipped for theft, theft, possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse and unlawful possession of stolen property.
