A celebration of cultural diversity that attracts hundreds of thousands to the centre of Canberra for music, dance and food, this year’s National Multicultural Festival was on par with previous events.
Held in Civic on 21-23 February, large crowds enjoyed perfect weather across the event which saw approximately 200,000 people in attendance.
This year’s festival featured an expanded footprint to include three family spaces in Glebe Park, Civic Library and Canberra Museum and Gallery with the success of the expansion to Glebe Park to be reviewed over the next few weeks.
The event attracted over 350 stalls and 150 performers from across six continents, while over 2,000 performers took part in the Annual National Multicultural Festival Parade on Saturday 22 February.
Organisers will now turn their attention to 2021 with the festival set to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
